Making the Transition to the other end

So it's been roughly 6 months since I've been off the show at this point and I've slowly been making the transition into the coaching position. I think that the cast guys are lucky not only to have been on the show but more importantly, that we've been entitled to continuing education after the show.

Mystery and Matador have been great to us. I remember being kicked off the show being all depressed and i talked to Mystery outside and he re-assured me that my journey wasn't over. He told me that even though I was off the show that I would be able to continue learning from them once the show finished airing.

Since the show has finished airing I've had the chance to bump heads with all the top guys (E.g. Myst/Matad, Mehow, Jdog, Asian Playboy, etc etc) and it's been really cool learning different tips and tricks from everyone.

i get a lot of questions on myspace asking what its been like having learned from all these guys. Honestly, while all these guys have phenomonal game, what I'll say is this, all the top guys have DIFFERENT game. Some guys aren't as aggressive, some guys only do day game, some guys have lower/higher energy, etc etc. It's really mind blowing and also refreshing at the same time knowing that there are so many variations and that they ALL WORk. So goes the cliche saying "just be yourself and she'll find you attractive" which apparently holds true ( based off my observations thus far ). While there are a lot of variations in game, I will say this, I do see these two traits over and over again. A successful PUA does one of two things:

1. Open a LOT of sets.
2. Remain Persistent while in set.

Having the mental discipline to do those two things will take an individual really far and obviously taking a bootcamp/program to learn how to micromanage/calibrate an interaction definitely catalyzes the pick up process.

I remember talking to Mehow over New Years during sarging and I asked him what his one defining feature was in pick up and he simply told me

"Open a *hit ton of sets Kevin, that's it, that' the secret sauce, everything else wil fall into place".

So to anyone just starting out in pick up and thinks that it only require one school of training to become a good PUA, definitely NOT TRUE. I remember starting out with only what I learned from the show, it definitely got me results I was relatively satisfied with, but learning from a number of top PUAs and taking the best from each camp has really made me a lot more versatile and knowledgeable. So if you're first starting out, I would definitely recommend sticking to a certain type of pick up for at least a couple months but also being open to other school's of thought.

Coaching:

Me and Greg had the opportunity to have our first workshop and it most definitely a rewarding experience. It was really cool and refrehin being on the opposite side for once. It also felt great being able to give back what we've received from the show.

We spent hours upon hours preparing our lesson plan and the goal of the workshop was to have the student master their approach. Overall, I found the experience to be very rewarding on my part. Although I spent the weekend gaming for someone else, being able to help change someones life was definitely something that was rewarding on a very internal level. One of our students wrote this review for me and Greg

Hey Kevin, heard you're in town this week and you're coming out to my friend's birthday party tonight here in DC. Sounds good. It'll be a good time for sure.

    See ya tonight.
