The First Asian Guy Off VH1's The Pick Up Artist 2

Hey Guys,

Well, SHIT, I just got kicked off the show. Total buzz kill! Well, as the FIRST Asian off Season 2 of VH1's The Pick Up First, I have to say it sucks and good luck to my fellow Asian bro Brian!

First off….. how I felt that night:

I was really really really really nervous that night, Alex had just gotten kicked off in the previous elimination and at that point, I knew that the game was on, no jokes/bs from that point forward. I remember climbing onto the bus that night even more nervous than I was the first night out.

As soon as I stepped into field, I...
  • Totally brain farted,
  • I become nervous,
  • My palms started sweating,
  • and yes, swamp ass ensued
My first two sets went terrible, if you look closely, me and Todd are wearing the exact same vest and we had the same opener that night.

So out of coincidence, the first two sets I opened the girls were like "Ummm, your friend wearing the exact same vest asked us the same question". Got blown out of my first two sets and it was all down hill from there.

During my elimination, Mystery accused me of a few things, he said:
  • I was a social robot,
  • Cursed too much,
  • Made people uncomfortable,
  • Socially unaware
  • And because of these factors I am unable to learn pick up.
He was correct on all the points but in all fairness, we were given scripts, essentially lines to memorize. This was really incongruent with my personality, of course I was going to sound like a robot. I believe that anyone can learn anything with enough determination and there's no exception with pick up.

Since the show, I've sought additional training. Even though I was kicked off the show and had my dreams shatter before my very eyes, there was no way I was going to throw in the towel.

Stay tuned, I have a big announcement on Tuesday as well as IN FIELD footage of myself working my game with my newly developed CONFIDENCE.

Hey Kevin, sorry you got eliminated. I posted on MeHow's blog as well about it. The problem that I see isn't only the incongruency, but they haven't taught you guys how to stack forward.

All of the guys minus Brian didn't have anything to say after the opener. More important for general pick-up, you have to know when to thread cut and move on. From a drama standpoint, I can see how eliminating you is good for television, but just like the first elimination, it's bullshit because you guys don't know anything yet.

I'm only mildly upset that you took my spot on the show. I would love to try at it next season, although those references to swamp ass aren't making me too excited.

Best of luck to you and I can't wait to see your infield video.

Hey Kev, DJ Fuji here, chief instructor with Mehow Inc. Just wanted to drop you a comment after watching this episode. For some reason everyone thinks you look like me. I'm starting to think people just think asian people all look alike.

Actually, I'm just gonna copy and paste what I wrote on Mehow's blog (http://mehow.tv/blog/?p=484):

    >>I don’t think they should have eliminated Kevin, and i’m not just saying that cause he looks like me. Kevin had more potential than Karl. His sticking points were all tactical things that are easily fixed, not anything deep rooted or psychological. He leans in, he’s a little uncalibrated, and he cussed too much. Big deal. I dont think he should be punished for making mistakes they haven’t taught him about yet. In fact, he plowed and pushed himself. Despite leaning in, he opens with direct body language and kino. He’s 10x more dominant than most of the other guys. When he got blown out of one set he immediately went into another one. He opened immediately and pushed until it went as far as it would go.

Now let’s look at Karl. He went into one set and they completely blew him off and closed off their body language because he had the dominance of a goldfish. Then he talked to himself and pussed out the rest of his time. And THAT’S why they chose him over Kevin? That’s kind of a slap to the face. That’d be like Jessica Alba losing a beauty contest to Rosie o’donnell. It’s why everyone else on the show assumed Karl would be the one eliminated.

If you watch the extras on the website Mystery and Co try to convince us of why they chose Kevin but it just sounds like the way he tried to put down the struggling students in the first episode. In other words, faked. A student making a mistake because you haven’t taught him correctly isn’t HIS fault. If anything it’s yours as an instructor.

Hey Kevin. Just wanted to say that it is bullshit that you were eliminated. You definitely looked solid relative to the other guys on the show. Even though you were cussing like a sailor (And I am sure they did some crafty editing to exaggerate that), the girls seemed to be reacting pretty well to you.

I hope everything is going well for you. Things are going well for me.

    Hey Kev!

It's sad that you got eliminated! But the important thing is to keep on going.

You have the best posture and body language of most the beginners and you will make a fine PUA one day.

The social robot thing is very common in the Mystery style and it doesn't fit everyone. From your commentary I pick that you are more natural and direct than indirect.

In my opinion that's a very good thing for not only picking up chicks, but being yourself, and a stronger, more confident and simply better man.

I suggest that you to delve in some more natural game stuff for a bit to see how that works.

Greets from an Asian bro from Germany!

    Kevin,

I've read Mystery's books and I've been practicing his material and other PUA material for 3 years. When you say Mystery gives you scripts to memorize that were incongruent to your personality I'm pretty DARN sure you mistook what he meant. When he/matador gives you canned openers/lines it's for you to use them as a base for your own lines. If one of them is incongruent with your personality women WILL pick that up. You can always reword them to include your own real life stories.

I am new in MAC world but I have spend several years working with Linux, Windows, COM , C, C and .net and I can tell you that .NET is much more than a simple copy of JAVA. First at all JAVA has been to heavy to run as a disconnected client, something that .NET allows easily. One thing that it is important to say not all depends on the tool, also depends on the developer. I bet JAVA has a lot features but if the developer does not know about them, the software will be poor and heavy.
